HISTORY OF KENYA NATIONAL UNION OF NURSES
The Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) was established in 2011 and registered in 19th April 2013 as a Trade Union in Kenya under the provisions of the Labour Relations Act No. 14 of 2007 Laws of Kenya.The sole purpose of this Union is to be a World class union of choice for all nurses working in Kenya. The union exists to establish a democratic platform upon which nurses shall address their concerns by engaging their employers in dialogue and employment agreements in order to improve nurses working conditions which will in turn improve the quality of nursing care to the public. It represents all cadres of nurses in Kenya drawn from practice setting, education and research institutions.
To be a union of choice in Kenya for all nurses who embrace world-class standards of nursing care.
To provide a democratic and legal platform to unite nurses for the mutual protection, economic, political and social empowerment through progressive programs.
